While waiting and snapping shots, I turned to the right and looked up the opposite hill where the snow was melting. I know it is impossible to see, but have faith in me. There was a family of five deer who joyfully escaped the hunters walking into the woods at the top of the hill. Their color blended so well with the browned grasses and weeds. I was able to spy the last one by its white tail that stuck out like a sore thumb without the snow on this hill. |
I believe in the deer!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inspiring post. I'll think of your message as I go through all the twists and turns of today.
Thank you Mary for believing! You made my day. And yesterday you did as well, with your hummingbirds!
ReplyDeleteI definitely believe in the deer. Jerry and I had a great start of the day too. Barry called us about 4:15 while cabbing and asked if we wanted to meet him at Denny's in between calls. Of course we did! He does this about once a month and it always makes for a great day. We'll probably actually see some deer when we get up to the mt. house this afternoon after Jerry gets off from work.
ReplyDeleteHope all your appts. go smoothly and your day is not too hectic.

Your story reminded me of the two deer who crossed my path the other day as I was coming along the road that leads home. They walked across the road, hopped a fence, and disappeared in some brush. No hunters lurked in the direction they were headed, and I breathed a sigh of relief for them, but it didn't occur to me to write about it. Thank you for doing the writing, and for making the sighting of your deer meaningful to yourself and others.
ReplyDeletePretty sky! We need to spend more time looking up.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
