Photos, haircuts, and some positive news

Bill without the EEG device on his head!
Thought I owed him this...much better photo.
When I went back over the past blogs, I ran into the photo of Bill all geared up for the 24 hour EEG. Anyone dealing with brain injury and/or seizure disorders knows how important that test can be.  But when we were getting dressed today, I noticed he was looking very nice.  He really wanted a hair cut and we got that last week.  And look at that smile!  I thought after that other photo I would share a picture of Bill today.

Checking camera for color and this was pretty cool.
This is a reflection of a tree in the window at the hospital,
through the front window of my car.
Some good news about our visits to the doctors.  He has stopped taking one of his medications to see if some of the affects of the respiratory failure and hypoxia might improve.  He still is not reading, but he is talking clearly, thinking clearly, and expressing himself in a very orderly manner.  His memory has gaps, but all in all he gave the doctor a very accurate and organized report of the past four months.  We are encouraged and the neurologist will see if he wants Bill to continue to hold this medication.  Less medication may be one of the keys to his improvement. I hope so for his sake.

After two doctors' appointments and lunch out, Bill is sleeping peaceful. The nice thing is, he was out for six hours and never "hit the wall" from brain fatigue. We are optimistically encouraged and wanted to share that good news with everyone.

A cool pine tree I spotted outside today and wanted to share.
It is really COLD here today, but happy to be out.

We have another appointment next Tuesday that is very important and has to do with Bill's vocal cord. It was previously paralyzed but seems to be GONE. Will have to verify that with throat specialist and will keep you all posted.

Each day still requires many reminders and much patience on both of our parts. But if we survive this cold snap, piles of snow, and the cable man, we should be OK.

  6. Yes, I see happiness too.

Thank you for sharing this good news. It's been such a hard week, given what happened in Tucson. It's good to know that life moves forward, good things can happen, difficult things can ease.
